Convened under the auspices of the UN General Assembly, the UN SDG Summit will gather Heads of State and Government at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to follow up and comprehensively review progress in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event is the first UN summit on the SDGs since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda in September 2015.

A second edition of the Local and Regional Governments’ Forum is set to take place within the SDG Summit, harnessing the opportunity to engage in high-level dialogues among national and local and regional delegations in order to accelerate commitments for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda. A high-level delegation of local and regional
governments is expected to arrive at the SDG Summit.
